Description
Calprofen 100 mg/5 ml Oral Suspension is a liquid medicine containing ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is formulated to relieve mild to moderate pain, reduce fever, and help alleviate symptoms such as muscular pain, headache, sore throat, toothache, earache, sprains, strains, and post-immunisation fever in children. This suspension is suitable for infants and children from 3 months up to 12 years.

Directions (How to Use)
Who can use this medicine:
Infants from 3 months of age, weighing more than 5 kg
Children and adolescents up to 12 years
How to prepare:
Shake the bottle well before use to mix the suspension evenly.
Use the measuring device supplied with the medicine to give the correct dose.
Typical dosing guidance:
Infants 3–6 months (over 5 kg): 2.5 ml up to 3 times in 24 hours (no more than 24 hours without medical advice).
Infants 6–12 months: 2.5 ml 3–4 times in 24 hours.
Children 1–4 years: 5 ml 3–4 times in 24 hours.
Children 4–7 years: 7.5 ml 3–4 times in 24 hours.
Children 7–12 years: 10 ml 3–4 times in 24 hours.
Important instructions:
Leave at least 4 hours between doses.
Do not give more than the recommended number of doses in 24 hours.
If symptoms persist beyond the appropriate duration for the child’s age, consult a healthcare professional.
Side Effects & Warnings
Possible Side Effects
While many children tolerate ibuprofen well at recommended doses, some may experience:
Allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, swelling or breathing difficulties
Gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain
Headache or dizziness
In rare cases, severe skin reactions or other serious adverse effects
If a severe allergic reaction or other serious symptom occurs, stop use and seek medical help immediately.
Warnings & Precautions
Do not give this medicine to children under 3 months of age or weighing less than 5 kg.
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms.
Do not use this product with other medicines containing ibuprofen or other NSAIDs to reduce the risk of adverse effects.
Take special care and consult a healthcare professional before use if the child has a history of asthma, liver or kidney disease, heart problems, bleeding disorders or sensitivity to NSAIDs.
NSAIDs such as ibuprofen may mask signs of infection; if symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice.
Avoid use during varicella (chickenpox) where possible, as complications may be associated with NSAID use.

Store below 25°C and do not use after the expiry date.
If an overdose is suspected, seek urgent medical attention even if the child seems well, as delayed effects can occur, including liver or kidney problems.
