What is Nurofen for Children Chewable Capsules used for?
Nurofen for Children chewable capsules is indicated for use in children aged between 7 to 12 years for the short-term relief of mild to moderate pain. This includes sore throat, dental pain, earache, headache, and minor aches and sprains. It is also used for the relief of symptoms associated with cold and influenza, and for the reduction of fever (high temperature).
How does Nurofen for Children Chewable Capsules work?
The active ingredient in Nurofen for Children Chewable Capsules is Ibuprofen – this is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, substances in the body that are responsible for causing pain, inflammation, and fever, thereby helping to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and lower a high temperature.
