What is VYDURA?

VYDURA is used to treat acute migraine attacks with or without aura in adults who have already been diagnosed with migraine. It is also used as a preventive treatment for adults with episodic migraine who experience at least 4 migraine attacks per month.

How VYDURA works

VYDURA contains rimegepant, which targets calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a substance that may be elevated in people with migraine. Rimegepant blocks CGRP from attaching to its receptor, which helps to:

  1. Stop an active migraine attack.
  2. Reduce the frequency of migraine attacks when taken preventively.

By targeting CGRP, VYDURA helps manage both the symptoms and recurrence of migraine attacks.

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure how to use this medicine.

The recommended dose for acute treatment of migraines in adults:

One tablet, as needed, once a day

The recommended dose for prophylaxis of migraines in adults:

One tablet, taken every other day

VYDURA is for oral use. The oral lyophilisate can be taken with or without food or water.

If you take more VYDURA than you should

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist or go to a hospital straight away. Take the medicine pack and this leaflet with you.

If you forget to take VYDURA

If you take VYDURA for the prevention of migraine and you miss a dose, just take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Some of the side effects are temporary with continued treatment or disappeared when treatment is stopped.
