What is Buscopan 10mg Tablets used for?
Buscopan 10mg Tablets contain the active ingredient hyoscine butylbromide and are used to relieve spasms (cramps) of the muscles in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
They are indicated for the relief of spasm in the gut and gastrointestinal tract, including symptomatic relief of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in adults.
Muscle spasms in the stomach and intestines can cause pain, discomfort, bloating, and cramping. Buscopan helps to ease these symptoms and improve comfort.
How Buscopan 10mg Tablets work
Buscopan contains hyoscine butylbromide and belongs to a group of medicines called antispasmodics.
It works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the stomach, intestines, and other parts of the digestive system. By reducing these involuntary muscle contractions, Buscopan helps to relieve cramping, pain, and discomfort.
This allows the digestive system to function more comfortably and reduces symptoms associated with conditions such as IBS.
Buscopan provides targeted relief of abdominal cramps and can be taken as directed for short-term symptom control.
